FAQ - Renting a Disney Vacation Pool Home or Villa in Kissimmee, Florida

Renting our Villas in Emerald Island Resort

Q1. How far are your villas from Walt Disney World and other area attractions?
A. Both of our homes are less than 3 miles from Disney World. It will take between 5-10 minutes. Our Guest Information section of the website has the shortest driving directions to Disney parks for your convenience. So, go ahead and plan for an afternoon nap in the villa when you plan your next Disney park visit. You can always go back to the parks to see the Fire Works in the evening.

Q2. Are these timeshares OR are there any "strings" such as having to go for a sales presentation?
A. Our homes are not timeshares nor or you required to attend any sales presentations.

Q3. Will I be getting the villa as shown in the pictures?
A. Absolutely. What You See Is What You Get. We don't have pictures of sample homes, but actual homes. Villas are not allocated on arrival, rather you select the villa of your choice and it is allocated to you right after your booking form and payment are received.

Q4. Do I need to rent a car?
A. We recommend that you rent a car which gives you the flexibility to go shopping or visiting the parks at your own terms. You can always call the cab or a shuttle service, but that might become a bit more expensive than renting a car if you have to take frequent trips.

Q5. We are not comfortable driving in US, can we take a shuttle to the parks?
A. Absolutely, you can arrange for transportation by visiting our clubhouse front desk. You can also call the providers listed here.

Q6. Are there any Golf courses near-by?
A. There are many golf courses near-by including Celebration Golf Club, Champions Gate, Falcon's Fire, and Mystic Dunes, which is less than five minutes away. In addition, there are several Walt Disney World courses from which to choose. Stop by our clubhouse for discount coupons to some of the area golf-courses and other attractions. Q7. Where do I pickup/drop-off the keys to the villa?
A. No where! Our villas have a secure key-less entry system. We will provide you with the access codes for the resort as well as the villa prior to your arrival. So, there is no need to pickup or drop-off keys. That is the last thing we expect our guests to do when they arrive late at night. We don't want you to waste your precious holiday time in the Florida area for trivial things such as visiting a rental agency's front-office to pick-up keys!

Q8. How about parking? Where do I park and is it free?
A. Mickey's Magic: You can park right across from the villa.  For "Emerald Magic", you can park on the drive-way or across from the villa. There is plenty of parking and it is free for any of our villas.

Q9. How much is the security deposit?
A. Mickey's Magic: 250$; "Emerald Magic": 500$.

Q10. When will I receive my security deposit?
A. Per the agreement it will be refunded after accounting for any damages and excess telephone usage. It could take us up to 3 weeks to refund the security deposit. However, as we aim to keep our guests happy, we refund the same ASAP. Typical times taken to this date range from 3- 14 days after the departure of the guest.

Q11. In what form will I receive my security deposit?
A. If your payment was made with PayPal and we are able to refund the money via PayPal then that is how we will refund the security deposit. We are unable to refund to a different PayPal account than from which the payment is made. If you used other means, we will mail a check to the address on the Booking Form. Also, for your security we will only refund the deposit to the name of the primary person on the Booking Form.

Q12. Can I smoke in the villa?
A. As is typical to most of the vacation rental homes and for the health and comfort of our guests who do not smoke, our vacation homes are designated as non-smoking homes.

Q13. Do you provide linens and blankets?
A. Yes, our homes are completely furnished with linens and blankets as well as pool towels for the entire family

Q14. Do you have laundry facilities?
A. We have full sized washer and dryer in each of the homes we offer.

Q15. Are pets allowed?
A. Due to risk to the furnishings we have, we do not allow pets.

Q16. What facilities do you have for small children?
A. We provide stroller, baby monitoring system, stair gates, high chair and full-size crib (Pack 'n Play bed in the townhome) for our little guests at NO EXTRA CHARGE. We even encourage our guests to carry the stroller to the parks and save on stroller rentals.

Q17. What is the maximum occupancy of your homes? Do I pay any per person charges?
A. The maximum occupancy of our three bedroom villa is eight and the six bedroom home is 14 including infants. There are no per person charges. Our prices are for the whole villa.

Q18. Can we rent both the homes together?
A. Absolutely. If your party size is large, you can rent the pool home and townhome together. Please ask us for special rates.

Q19. Is there air conditioning and/or heating?
A. Our homes have both air conditioning and heating available.

Q20. Are there any shopping centers/restaurants nearby?
A. There are many shopping centers, grocery stores, restaurants, banks, fueling stations and more just minutes from our villas. The nearest grocery store is less than 2 miles away and the shopping center is about one mile away. Please check the Guest Information section for directions and information.

Q21. If there is a problem during my stay, who should I call?
A. We contracted with a professional property management company to look after our villas. They are available to assist you with concierge-type services as well as any questions/issues you may have during your stay. The management company also provides a 24-hour contact number should you have an emergency during your stay. Their contact details will be provided to you prior to your arrival as well as are displayed at the villas.

Q22. We assure that we will keep the villa clean. Do we still have to pay the security deposit?
A. The security deposit is standard practice when booking any vacation home because it serves as a "safety net" for the owner and as an incentive for the renter to not abuse the property. However, accidents do occur, and, even more unfortunately, a very small minority of people may abuse or take things from our home. Therefore we will not rent our property without this "safety net," and deductions will be made if we find damage or missing items after your departure. The deposit ($250 for Mickey’s Magic; $500 for Emerald Magic) will be returned to you in full following your stay, assuming that you leave our home the way you found it.

Q23. How much is the security deposit?
A. Mickey's Magic: 250$; "Emerald Magic": 500$.

Q24. Do I have to pay taxes? If so how much?
A. Yes, that is one thing we cannot avoid in this country. Just like you pay taxes when you stay in a hotel, you will pay taxes when you stay in any vacation rental home in Florida. The tax rate is same for hotels and vacation homes and is 13%.

Q25. Are your homes certified/licensed as vacation homes?
A. Yes, the certificates are displayed in the home per state and county laws.

Q26. What are my responsibilities during and at the end of my stay?
A. During your stay, your only responsibilities are to be kind to our villas and to do whatever housekeeping (washing used dishes and returning them to cabinets, etc.) is necessary to keep things as tidy as you found them at your arrival. It is helpful if you leave things in their proper place to facilitate the inventorying and cleanup that will occur after your departure. Please put-away all garbage in the provided cans. Please start a load of laundry using the provided detergent. When you leave, just lock up the home after ensuring all side entry doors are closed. Apart from these sensible and reasonable details, the whole idea is to enjoy the villa, the resort, and your entire vacation!

Q27. Is internet available at the villas?
A. We provide free secure Wi-Fi at our villas. You can also connect with your Ethernet cable for those secure transactions that need absolute protection.

Q28. What is your privacy policy?
A. The information we collect from you is limited to what you provide voluntarily on the inquiry/booking form to ensure that we are able to establish your identity. We will not give, sell, or rent this information to anyone. We will use your information solely to respond to you regarding the reason you contacted us. We will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization, other than to fulfill your request. Our management company will be provided with the name of the Party Lead, number in the party, arrival/departure dates and nothing beyond. When you make payment using your credit card via PayPal, we do not see your credit/bank card information.

Q29. Are phone calls free from the villa?
A. Phone calls are free to the destinations as listed below from our villas.
